Listed, alphabetically, are any resources I have used as well as any notes regarding them.
*Amazon*
Everyone knows about Amazon so I don't need to share much on what Amazon is. However, I find that the consumer reviews are spot-on and incredibly helpful when attempting to buy anything for the first time!
*The Bump*
Full disclosure - I happened to stumble upon The Bump to use as my online registry for my baby shower. It was super helpful because it allowed you to import items from all over the internet. They also gave lists of specific items you may need as a first-time parent. Since I had no idea what I might need or want for bringing home baby, that was great! They have a very limited selection on their own website of baby gear, though, and most of it is very expensive.
*Buy Buy Baby*
We have a Buy Buy Baby where we live. We also have several other local baby stores. I find it super helpful to go see certain items (like car seats or cribs) IN PERSON before buying.
*Car Seats For The Littles*
This resource is a website and a Facebook group run by Child Passenger Safety Technicians from Canada, the EU, and the United States. The website has tons of great information. If you want specific recommendations based on your vehicle and child, you can ask the Facebook group.
*Consumer Reports*
My library has access to Consumer Reports both digitally and physically. My mother also subscribes to Consumer Reports so I have access through her as well. There are some pluses and negatives I have found using them. For baby gear, they do not update on a yearly or regular basis. Also, for some items, they do not provide buying information anymore whether it is for liability reasons or other reasons. That being said, it can be helpful when you are attempting to discover what brands are reputable or to give you a general idea of what to look for when buying specific products.
